  • Conference Registration Now Open

    Registration for the ATOMIM 2012 Spring Conference is now open. Our theme for the conference is "Math & Technology: Get Connected." Although we are still working out all the details, this year's conference is shaping up to be a great opportunity for you to connect with colleagues and learn about the future of mathematics education in Maine.     The ATOMIM board is seeking nominations for the following board positions due for election on March 30, 2012 at our Annual Conference: 

    1. President-Elect (will serve one year as President Elect, 2 years as President, and one year as Past-President) 

    2. Treasurer - (3 year term) 

    3. NCTM Representative (3 year term) 

    4. District 3 Representative (3 year term) Franklin, Oxford and Somerset Counties 

    5. District 6 Representative (3 year term) York and Cumberland Counties 

    We welcome nominations of any current ATOMIM member in good standing for these positions. You may self nominate. 

    Deadline for Nominations is November 30, 2012.   • ATOMIM Announces High School Dine & Discuss Schedule

    Reasoning and Sense Making in the Classroom-a process for addressing the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics, including the Standards for Mathematical Practice. Come to learn about how you can use simple questions to turn your classroom into a place where students are developing their reasoning skills and solving problems. Gather with colleagues to do a bit of math, engage in a bit of task analysis, and break bread.
