Hello, since October I’ve been the Math Interventionist/Coach at Reiche Elementary School in Portland.  Previously I was a fifth grade teacher and math team coach.  I also worked as a data/literacy specialist in Portland for many years.  It’s exciting to be back working exclusively with math, my favorite subject.  Part of my time is spent working with students at all levels, and it’s also my responsibility to support teachers.

At the elementary level we have successfully devoted a lot of time and resources for professional development with the goal of improving our students’ reading and writing skills.  I’m hoping that through this book study we’ll be able to share ways to generate the same interest in improving math instruction.

Hi.  I am not officially in the group, but hope to gain some insights from participating in the discussion.  I teach sixth grade at Paris Elementary School.
