Dine & Discuss / Book Study 2017: Becoming the Math Teacher You Wish You'd Had

Dine and Discuss meetings will be held throughout the state during October (see below). Tracy Zager will speak to us about her book and our dreams as math teachers. Each week from November 2 through March 2, we will read a chapter and chat online via the ATOMIM Forum. Each chapter is power-packed with strategies to change our perceptions and our student’s perceptions about Math.

The experience will culminate on March 10th (Bangor) and 17th (Portland) with Tracy as our keynote speaker at the ATOMIM spring conference.

Currently there will be seven locations around the state.

Formative Assessment meet Formative Instruction:

Strategies that provide a Window into the Student Mind

Join us for two evenings of math, discussion, and activity!

Participants for this Dine & Discuss will:

  • Learn about formative assessment as formative instruction which includes a number of key elements;
  • Learn about practical strategies to increase student engagement and provide important information about students’ mathematical thinking; and
  • Network with other educators to share ideas.
