The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) released in April a new document: Principles to Actions. This document builds on the Principles and Standards document released in 2000.

Watch a brief message from Steve Leinwand about Principles to Actions.

This year, ATOMIM is trying something new: A coordinated, blended, year-long (almost) professional development experience. We are using webinar technology to enhance our online book study and wrapping it up with a regional dine & discuss. In this vision, our professional development will tie together classroom strategies related to the Standards for Mathematical Practice in the Common Core State Standards, and also allow us to discuss other principles, essential elements, that help support teachers in their work.

Dates, times, locations, and registration for the dine & discuss sessions in March will come later. But, we are asking you to commit to participating from October to March.

The price to participate is $75 per person, for non-members. This includes two 1-hour webinars, a copy of the e-book (if you register early enough), attendance at the dine & discuss, and a discounted one-year membership. If you are currently a member of ATOMIM, your base participation price is $60. If you'd like to renew your membership through this event, you can chose to do so for the discounted $15 rate.

So register today.
