ATOMIM is happy to invite you to a year of professional development centered around the Taking Action book series. The ATOMIM Board has been hard at work designing this experience.

Book study participants are responsible for purchasing their own books. You will receive a 20% discount if you purchase your book from NCTM and use the discount code DNDMAINE (and ATOMIM will receive a small percentage of the sale). This offer is valid until Oct 31, 2019.

  • We begin with Dine & Discuss in October to launch this year's book study. As we have done in the past, Dine and Discuss locations are all across the state. Pick the dates and locations that work best for you.
  • A second Dine and Discuss will follow in January or February, while we are in the midst of the book study.
  • We will cap off the year with our Spring Conference and Math Leaders Night in March. Featured speakers for the March events include Sara Frisbie and Donna Karsten, authors of the Coaching in Mathematics Education from NCSM, and Maggie McGatha, co-author of Everything You Need for Mathematics Coaching
  • Our Conference keynote speaker is Margaret (Peg) Smith, Professor and Senior Scientist at the University of Pittsburgh and Taking Action book series editor.

You may participate in any or all of these activities. Make your choices through the registration form. The only requirement is that you become an ATOMIM member (it's free!).

Math Leaders Night will be held from 4:30 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Central Maine Community College. We use the term "Math Leader" very broadly to include classroom teachers, teacher leaders, department chairs, math coaches, and administrators. If you are the math "go to person" in your school or district, then you are a Math Leader! Sessions will be facilitated by the conference featured speakers. Registration will include dinner.

  • Spring Conference (Friday) only: $150
  • Dine & Discuss/Book Study with Spring Conference: $175
