Athena Pappaconstantine has just accepted a new position as a math interventionist at Young School in Saco. She credits the pandemic for this job change.  She taught 7-10 math classes a day last year to remote students.  She remembered how much she loved teaching math each day.  She has worked in Saco Schools for 30 years.  For the past 6 years she has been the Math Coach at the K-2 level.  She spent 24 years at CK Burns School in Saco as a third grade teacher.  She began her teaching career as a Special Education teacher.  


For the past 5 years, Athena has also worked for Great Minds delivering professional development for Eureka Math.  She loves sharing her passion for math with teachers across the US. She graduated from Wheelock College in Boston for her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education.  She received her master’s degree from the University of Maine in Farmington in Educational Leadership with a Concentration in Mathematics.  She also participated in  the Maine Math Coaching Project at UMF.
